Privacy Policy

What we collect

We do not operate accounts or logins. The site collects only the server logs generated in the normal course of serving a website, the analytics and advertising data described below, and whatever you choose to send us through the contact form. Server logs are used for administration, traffic analysis and troubleshooting.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, the name, email address and message you enter are emailed to us so we can reply, together with the date and the network address the message was sent from, which we keep only to deal with abuse. We do not add contact form senders to any mailing list or share their details.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, the searches you make on the site, the approximate location your visit came from, your device and browser type, and the links you follow, including links out to accommodation and business websites. This information is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.

If your device is set to a time zone in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or a neighbouring European territory, Google Analytics does not load and sets no cookies until you choose “Allow analytics” in the cookie panel. If you choose “Essential only”, it stays off. Your choice is remembered in your browser, and you can change it at any time with the “Cookie preferences” button in the footer of every page; withdrawing consent switches Google Analytics off and deletes its cookies. The time zone check happens in your browser and your time zone is not sent to us.

Visitors elsewhere are measured with Google Analytics automatically, without being asked first. You can stop Google Analytics collecting your data by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies or scripts from google-analytics.com and googletagmanager.com in your browser.

Advertising

Business listing pages show advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, to show ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites, and to measure how ads perform. Google's use of advertising cookies is described in its advertising policy.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com, or opt out of a range of third-party advertising cookies at aboutads.info.

Accommodation search and affiliate links

The accommodation search on this site is a Wotif booking form, and we take part in Wotif's affiliate programme through the Partnerize network. If you search and then book through it, we may earn a commission on that booking.

Submitting the form sends your search terms — arrival date, number of nights and number of guests — to Wotif, and the affiliate network records the click so that a resulting booking can be attributed to this site. The price you pay is the same whether you reach Wotif through this site or go to Wotif directly.

Paying commission is not a condition of appearing in our directory listings. Directory entries are editorial and are not paid placements.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website asks your browser to store. This site uses them for analytics and advertising, as described above; visitors in European time zones are asked before analytics cookies are set. The site also keeps your analytics choice in your browser's local storage so it does not ask again on every page. Wotif, Partnerize, Google Maps and the WillyWeather forecast widget may set their own cookies when you interact with them; those are set by those third parties and are governed by their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site remains usable with cookies disabled.

Embedded content from other sites

Some pages embed content from third parties — Google Maps on the map and listing pages, and the WillyWeather forecast on the weather page. Those providers may collect information about your use of the embedded content under their own privacy policies.

Disclosure to others

We do not sell, rent or trade information about you. We may disclose information where we are required to by law.

Children

This site is a general travel guide and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Any change is published on this page, with the revision date below.
